Prof. Dr. Nejat Bora Sayan has built a long-standing career through his clinical work in oral and maxillofacial surgery, his university leadership roles and his international academic activities.
Born in Iğdır in 1958, Prof. Dr. Sayan completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Ankara. He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Dentistry in 1982 and began his doctoral studies in oral and maxillofacial surgery the same year. He received his doctoral degree in 1987 and became an associate professor in 1989.
Throughout his career he has worked in the fields of orthognathic surgery, cleft lip and palate, temporomandibular joint disorders, implant surgery and comprehensive oral reconstruction.

Between 1989 and 1991, Prof. Dr. Sayan carried out scientific research at Osaka University Faculty of Dentistry with a scholarship from the Japanese Ministry of Education. During this period he worked on orthognathic surgery, cleft lip and palate, and jaw joint disorders.
For his contributions to academic and cultural relations between Türkiye and Japan, he is reported to have received an award from the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2005 and to have been honoured with a state decoration by Japan in 2015.
In the same year, a symposium named “Nejat Bora Sayan” is reported to have been held in his honour by Osaka University.

He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Dentistry and began his doctoral studies in oral and maxillofacial surgery the same year.
He completed his doctoral education in oral and jaw surgery and received his doctoral degree.
He received the title of associate professor. Between 1989 and 1991 he conducted scientific research at Osaka University with a Japanese Ministry of Education scholarship.
With a TÜBİTAK NATO B2 scholarship, he studied temporomandibular joint surgery and laser applications at the Royal Hospital in London.
Between 2000 and 2010 he served as Dean of Ankara University Faculty of Dentistry.
Between 2008 and 2010 he served as President of the Turkish Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
After retiring from Ankara University at his own request, he took on the role of founding dean at Kemerburgaz University.
He brought his academic and administrative experience to his clinical work in Ankara.
Oral reconstruction and advanced surgical treatments are planned according to the patient’s needs following a detailed clinical evaluation.
